The Jacaranda

It is only 9am but the air is already thick with heat, making our skins sticky with sweat.
The jacaranda extends its blooming branches towards the sky while its fallen blossoms build a purple carpet at its feet.

Everything always has a perspective.

From far away the carpet is brightly purple, transforming the dry earth into a beautiful flood of lilac.

When you walk closer however, you see the imperfections. The carpet is riddled with holes and its colours are not made up of bright purple, but of a pale blue, sometimes turned into a filthy brown.

Sometimes we are not what we seem.

Knowing someone from the depth of your heart is understanding their beauty…and accepting their imperfections.
